At Oceanview Dental, we know that nobody enjoys going to the dentist more than necessary. CEREC is an exciting technology that is convenient for our patients because it allows Dr. Hargas to create high quality tooth restorations in just a single visit. The time it takes for a crown, bridge, or veneers to be created can be reduced from weeks to just 15 minutes with CEREC.

So what is CEREC?

CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic or Ceramic Reconstruction. CEREC utilizes modern computerized technology known as CADCAM, or computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing. When you come in for a visit, the dentist will take a digital scan of your teeth, rather than making a traditional impression. The advanced computer software then uses the 3D model to create the ceramic tooth.

What are the benefits of CEREC?

The fact that CEREC requires only a single visit is one of the biggest advantages that patients love. One procedure means just one round of anesthesia and immediate results. When you choose CEREC, your personal dentist, Dr. Hargas, will be in control of the process from start to finish. With traditional restorations, you would have to rely on a dental lab to create the restoration off-site, and any adjustments would take much longer.

How much does CEREC cost?

Although all the fancy equipment and the convenience of the procedure might make it seem expensive, CEREC crowns can actually be as cheap as a traditional procedure. Eliminating the laboratory costs helps make the procedure affordable for you.
