The set of complete dentures provided for you by Dr. James Hargas was fashioned to replace your missing or compromised teeth. This will restore the basic function of your mouth without the need for invasive dental treatments. At the same time, your dentures will also require some daily care and cleaning.

If you like to use denture adhesive and some food particles manage to infiltrate the base of your dentures, you should thoroughly rinse them away. You can then dry them with a clean paper towel and apply a fresh bead of denture adhesive.

You will also need to thoroughly clean your dentures when you take them out in the evening. This starts with a thorough rinsing to clear away any residual denture adhesive. Once this is done you should follow up by brushing all the surfaces of your dentures with a soft bristled toothbrush and a little nonabrasive toothpaste.

You can store your dentures overnight by soaking them in water and storing them in a safe place.

If you’ve had issues with bad breath caused by plaque buildup you might also want to clean your tongue. This can be by brushing your tongue with your toothbrush or using a special tongue scraper. Removing excess bacteria from the rough surfaces of your tongue can go a long way to reduce bad breath problems.
